Structure of the Internet Foundation Austria

The board of directors of the Internet Foundation Austria manages the foundation's business. It is committed to the purpose of the foundation, the promotion of the Internet in Austria, in particular the administration of the domain for .at. The foundation is the owner of nic.at GmbH, ipcom GmbH and tldbox GmbH, which is why the foundation's board of directors also takes on the role of owner representative here.

The board of trustees performs control functions in the sense of a supervisory board and appoints the domain advisory board. Two members of the Board of Trustees are sent by ISPA, one member by the University of Vienna.

The Domain Advisory Board advises the Foundation Board on fundamental issues relating to the design of Internet domain allocation. It is made up of national and international experts as well as representatives of Internet users and service providers. The members of the Domain Advisory Board are appointed by the Board of Trustees at the suggestion of the Board of Trustees.

 

In its own funding advisory board, experts from various fields decide which projects will be supported by the IPA - transparently and objectively. The members of the Funding Advisory Board have known the Internet since its inception. Funding is awarded, among other things, via the platform www.netidee.at.

 
All members carry out their work on a voluntary basis and independently of their full-time activities.
